Amniotic Fluid and Human Amniotic Membrane (also called HAM) can be harvested from pre-screened and qualified, willing donors at the point of a scheduled Caesarian or “C-Section.”  The material is recovered and processed to help preserve the amazing balance of cellular components, growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular matrix proteins (including Collagens and Hyaluronic Acid) that have been shown to help soothe, protect and cushion tissue. For conditions such as chronic full-thickness diabetic lower-extremity ulcers, venous ulcers, knee osteoarthritis, and plantar fasciitis, the healing characteristic profile of HAM offers tremendous promise.

Historically, Amniotic tissue has been used to treat a number of ophthalmic conditions since the last millennium. The University of Arizona is conducting a study based on the effects of amniotic membrane to reduce the risk of atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm) stemming from what is believed to be post-surgical inflammation. “Preliminary clinical results show less than 10 percent of patients experienced post-surgical AFib, which falls well below the existing 27-40 percent range.” http://uahs.arizona.edu/news/ua-first-world-use-amniotic-membrane-patch-heal-heart-after-surgery

The Caden Murray Group works with surgeons and physicians across multiple specialties that have seen very promising results in their patients using amniotic membrane and amniotic fluid for a variety of pathologies and therapies.
